Along with these exciting features, the ebook reinforces learning through three reflection sections. These help kids think about what they have learned in the book, and reflect on how things have changed from the past.
The ebook is ideal for kids aged 4-8, and is both entertaining and educational. Kids learn about old technology, and help them understand how technology has developed over time. Make friends with Mia and Zed, and learn about ancient tech in an interactive and fun ebook.
Both Spanish and English versions are available from iTunes, and kids can read the book on their own, or have it read to them in both languages.
"Fun story for 21st-century kids"
I got a kick out of all the 'ancient technology', mostly because it was the tech of my youth. I really did enjoy this app. It entertained me, and tickled my kids’ fancy because it meant they could laugh about how old Mom is.
"Great book to teach children about what things were like in the past"
Messy Mia is a great book to teach children about what things were like in the past when we were kids... I loved how it used a robot to teach Mia. This is a cute e-book about a little girl learning about what technology was like when her mother was a girl.
"I found myself reminiscing about old VHS tapes and my very first Walkman."
I truly enjoyed reading Messy Mia & The Tale of Ancient Tech HD. The sound of the old dial-up modem sent shivers up my spine, and I found myself reminiscing about old VHS tapes and my very first Walkman.
"Would definitely recommend"
I would definitely recommend Messy Mia and the Ancient Tech for preschoolers through 2ndgrade. I can just envision this book being read to kids by an older person, and how thrilling it would be to have both these generations learn from each other about how they play and how things have changed.
"A fun story for young children"
The “think about” questions are very well done, invoking higher order thinking on several levels including categorization and prediction skills. This is a very nice touch.
"This is a wonderful book"
I enjoyed reading this storybook app as it brought me back to my youth. This is a wonderful book touching on a topic that is rarely discussed with children.
